Riverstone Set CollageThis is just a heads up to let you know that the latest Series of "Law and Order Special Victims Unit" is starting on Wednesday 29 October 2018 on the Hallmark Channel on channel 137. Wednesday is the new day for this programme. This is my favourite TV programme.

The first series started in 1999 and every episode opens with the following words:

"In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories".

It is about the New York Police Department detectives who investigate sex crimes and the court cases involved in these crimes.

I am just going to mention a few of the cast here as there are so many:

Mariska Hargitay who plays Detective Olivia Benson (She has been in the cast since the beginning in 1999)

Christopher Meloni who played Detective Elliot Stabler (Was in the show from the beginning but left the show in 2011)

Ice T who plays Odafin Tutola (he joined the cast in 2000)

Dann Florek who played Captain Donald Cragen from 1999 - 2015

Richard Belzer who played Detective John Munch from 1999 - 2016

Stephanie March who played Alexandra Cabot a lawyer from 2000 - 2012

Tamara Tunie who played Dr Melinda Warner from 2000 - 2015

I have seen most of the shows (and series) but I have missed watching some of them.  Olivia and Elliot were partners in quite a lot of the shows that I have seen but they belong to a team of detectives who all work together.

This is a link to the Official Website for Law and Order Special Victims Unit where you can read more about the actors and the programme itself.

Please leave a comment below if you have watched this programme or if you are thinking of watching it and also if you have any favourite actors in the show.
