One of My Favourite Books

Posted on

This is a blog post I did just under 2 years ago and it still is one of my favourtie books.  I love reading and this week's blog post is about one of my favourite books which is called "Postmortem" by Patricia Cornwell.

"Postmortem" is the first book in a series of books, and is about Dr Kay Scarpetta, who is a Chief Medical Officer.  There are a lot of books in this series and I have read all of them and they are all very good and well worth a read.

This is a quote from the back of the book itself telling you what the book is about:

"A serial killer is on the loose in Richmond, Virginia.  Three women have died, brutalised and strangled in their own bedrooms.  There is no pattern:  the killer appears to strike at random - but always early on Saturday mornings.  So when Dr Kay Scarpetta, Chief Medical Officer, is awakened at 2.33 am, she knows the news is bad:  there is a fourth victim.  She fears many others will follow unless she can dig up new forensic evidence to aid the police.  But not everyone is pleased to see a woman in this powerful job.  Someone may even want to ruin her career and reputation .... "

The ISBN number of this book is 0-7515-3043-3

What I like about this book is that it grips your imagination from the very start, and it keeps you wondering all the way through.  Once I had started reading it, I did not want to put it down.  Characters are introduced in this book, most of who you will remember when you read the rest of this series.

You can buy it from any good book store or from Amazon

You can see all of Patricia Cornwell's books on her website  too,  and also find out if she has written any new books.

I have read all of the Dr Kay Scarpetta books by Patricia Cornwell and have also re-read  them a couple of times too.  I can definitely recommend them all if you are looking for a good book to read.  All of these books are stand-alone stories and the series of books follow Kay Scarpetta's career and what is going on in her life

Please leave a comment if you have read this book or if you haven't read it, what your favourite book is.

I have always fancied reading this series of books and your recommendation has made me decide! I love mystery/crime books and I am always looking for new authors, so it's great to have a new series to get through - thanks for sharing it.
